Casting For Television
Finnian likes to make his casting workshops as fun, friendly and productive as possible. He begins with a brief introduction about himself and his work after which he asks participants to say a little bit about their experience to date and what they would like to get out of the workshop.
There will then be an opportunity to get up on your feet and work practically in front of the camera. Finnian asks participants to prepare a contemporary scene where the focus is on your character. A screen script is preferable but if the piece is originally from a stage script then it should be tailored so that it can be presented ‘as if’ for camera. Finnian will offer feedback and direction. Please be familiar with your scene (ideally off book) and know the full script/plot that you have taken the scene from really well.
Please bring 2 copies of your chosen scene (preferably a duologue)
The workshop will finish with a general Q&A where you can ask questions about the television casting process or anything you’re unsure about.
